Salar Shahna, World XR President, crossed the Atlantic Ocean to participate in the BIG Festival (Brazil’s Independent Games Festival), the most important international independent games festival and market in Latin America, and a business hub for both local and international game developers, organized by the Ministry of Culture of Brazil, in São Paulo and taking place from June 24 to July 21, 2017.

In its 5^th edition, the BIG Festival brought game industry professionals and the general public together for a game showcase; the BIG Business Forum, an international congress with a one-on-one matchmaking system and meeting space; the BIG Playable City for urban areas; the BIG Impact, initiative for games transforming the society with positive impact; and the BIG Starter, a pitch session where game developers present their projects in development.

Shahna was part of the Swiss delegation for the gaming tour in Brazil organized through Swissnex, bringing together game developers. Furthermore, he was invited to speak at the BIG Festival and to join a panel on the main challenges for VR today.
