Nicolas Fontaine is a multi-entrepreneur. He co-founded Workshop 4.0 SA, an industrial and event robotics startup and the company has been working with Spot, the famous robot dog. His team strives to learn if Robots are a man’s best friend.
Nicolas Fontaine is a multi-entrepreneur. After studying landscaping in the canton of Fribourg, he moved to Sierre in the canton of Valais in 2014 and launched his first company. He then developed Dionysia, a circular economy project that recycles old wine barrels into furniture.
Co-founder of a cultural association called Satellite, he develops community gardens, a cultural center, a Fablab and a coworking space dedicated to artists.
A few years ago, he joined the coworking company PuraWorka SA which manages shared office spaces in Sion and Zermatt in order to promote new digital working methods.
In 2020, he co-founded Workshop 4.0 SA, a startup active in the fields of industrial and event robotics as well as other technologies such as 3D printing and laser engraving. Projects such as Roboclette and Aperobot have been developed as well in participation with major events such as the CES Las Vegas and the Milan Fashion Week.
Since 2021 the company has been working with Spot, the famous robot dog from Boston Dynamics and our job is quite literally to ask ourselves: Are Robots a man’s best friend?
