With more than 20 years of experience in the creation, implementation and management of new concepts in the hotel industry and another 20 years as an associate professor in entrepreneurship and strategic management of SMEs and head of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Department at the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne, Christine Demen Meier decided to take on new challenges. The first was at the HES SO Fribourg (CH) and concerned the creation of the Food Ecosystem Institute of the School of Management; the second one was at Les Roches (CH), where she was appointed General Manager Worldwide in 2019. Furthermore, since 2017, she has been appointed as member of the Innovation Council by the board of InnoSuisse, the Swiss innovation agency.
She has always been actively involved in the development of relations between research and the hospitality industry, through the creation of two research chairs, in 2010 and 2016 at EHL. She decided to continue this strategy in 2020, through the launch and development of the innovation hub “SPARK” at the Ecole Les Roches, despite the COVID crisis. SPARK allows start-ups or mature companies to test or develop products and business models, but also allows students from the three campuses (Crans Montana, Marbella, Shanghai) to be immersed in business projects as well as to develop their own company in the framework of our incubator.
